Native American Heritage Month Activities

NATIVE AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH VIDEO PROGRAM: Interested in learning more about African-Americans and Native Americans? Then join us November 12th, from 12:00 p.m.-1:30 p.m., in Bldg. 1, Room E100D & December 2nd, from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., in Bldg. 1, Room E100B, for a Brown Bag Lunch & Learn/Movie, "Black Indians: An American Story" presented in collaboration with the African American Advisory Committee. All are invited to attend!

UNIVERISTY OF MARYLAND COLLEGE PARK POWWOW: On Saturday, November 8th, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. the American Indian Student Union at the University of Maryland College Park will be having a Powwow in celebration on Native American Heritage Month. NATIVE AMERICAN SCIENCE SPEAKER: In cooperation with the GSFC Native American Advisory Committee (NAAC) and the GSFC Science Colloquium Committee, Dr. Greg Cajete (Santa Clara Pueblo) will be speaking on the topic "The Native Science World Perspective in the Context of Western Science" on Friday, November 21st, at 3:30 p.m. in the Building 3 Auditorium. All are welcome at attend.

FEDERAL & STATE RECOGNITION OF NATIVE AMERICAN HERITAGE DAY: Both President George W. Bush & Maryland State Governor Martin O'Malley signed into law that Friday, November 28th, be declared Native American Heritage Day in recognition of the many contributions that Native Americans have made for the state and the country.
