The Asian and Pacific American (APA) initiatives at Goddard are conducted in conjunction with the Asian Pacific American Advisory Committee (APAAC), which serves as a liaison between the APA employees and the Center Director.
APA Heritage Month
During the month of May, programs and celebrations are held throughout American to honor and to recognize the many contributions of Asian American and Pacific Islanders. It is during this month that the Nation honors the immensely rich and diverse histories, cultures, and above all, the collective APA contributions to the growth of this country.
Activities at Goddard feature important speakers, cultural performances, traditional foods, and more.
APA Heritage Cultural Presentations
Like the APA Heritage month activities, the APA Heritage Cultural Presentations are usually held in May. They typically feature entertainment, often traditional dancers or other traditional performances and costume, as well as sampling of a variety of foods from different Asian countries.
